The Kinetic Effect

Daniel, one of our young leaders and stars of our latest film. No doubt this blog will embarrass the life out of him.
Hello all. I'm just popping up from the media basement to let you know that our latest film 'The Kinetic Effect' is available to view now. It is an extra special film because it deals specifically with the community-driven aspect of our work and it's all about... Kinetic.
We were commissioned by The Playfield Institute in Cupar to make a short film focussing on the work we do with young people, and how it relates to and improves their personal and mental well being. The film was a real Kinetic family effort, featuring interviews with young people, staff - past and present - and original music from our design director Paul!

Just thought I'd let everyone know that the cool little website for Kinetic's original mixed media production 'Play.Stop.Rewind.' is online and full of photos, cast and crew blogs and awesome behind the scenes video courtesy of Abbie, our young filmmaking wonder kid.
The best thing is, the site will be updated regularly as we warm up for the tour this summer... so the only way to stay on top is to sign up for updates!

Alice in Woodlands First Performance!!
Posted Wed 24/02/10 by Graeme Sharp

Well the weekend was certainly busy. Despite some damp weather, we proved that Kinetic Youth Theatre can perform despite what Mother Nature can throw at us! We had a brilliant dress rehearsal on Saturday that allowed the cast to see the venue, experience the spaces they would be performing in and see the project complete with all their costumes & set. First show was great - we expected an audience of 30, and instead we had an audience just shy of 70! This was an amazing result for the cast, and nothing less than what they deserve for all their hard work. And how was the first performance? Well it was an excellent example of their talents and just how they've been able to do so well in such a short space of time. Tenacious, witty & wonderfully dramatic - they were brilliant. They are excited and enthused about the last three performances.
We have two shows left - 28th February and 7th March (3pm at Valleyfield Stables, Shiresmill). Hopefully we can see you there!)
