Street:Live is a strategic partnership project between Fife Council, Fife Fire & Rescue, Fife Constabulary and the Levenmouth Youth Initative. The project aims to engage young people from the Levenmouth area in positive alternatives and prevent their involvement in anti-social behavior.
Street:Live is a concept developed over thirteen years of learning from and working with young people in the communities of Levenmouth. Street:Live is not just about the activities, these are a tool to provide an opportunity to build sustainable relationships that promote positive life choices. The project was initiated in response to demand from the community and local young people, and based on the principle that given the choice and appropriate experience even the hardest to reach young person will choose to engage.
The project has drawn interest from across Scotland and is being used as a model of best practice to guide further provision. The approach and impact of the project has made, local, regional and national printed press as well as national TV news. Street:Live events have been visited twice by MSPs and Scottish Government ministers and have won two significant public sector awards for innovation and improving quality of life in the area.
