'Next!' Actors and extras on set during the NHS Fife shoot which filmed 20-21 January

We've had a busy month at Kinetic Media HQ. I've been hard at work on a job for the Playfield Institute in Cupar, putting the finishing touches on a couple of short films that highlight the great work Kinetic does with young people in the local community. The films will feature on Playfield's website as well as the community wing of this site and should be available to watch next month. Kinetic Trivia alert: The films also feature original music from Paul's pet project, an acoustic two-piece with lots of cool trumpet and keyboard harmonies and it sounds great.

I've also been calling 'action' on a new NHS Fife DVD encouraging staff to report physical aggression towards staff. A few familiar faces returned for the shoot including Rachael Keillor from our brand spanking new theatre company Kinetic Productions and Garry Torrance, our DP on the excellent Play.Stop.Rewind films. Filming took place over three days and finished ahead of schedule (always a bonus). So a big high five to everyone who pitched in to make things run as smoothly as they did... you know who you are.

Our work for the NHS continues with a new promo for NHS 24. They've been a fantastically loyal client to us over the past three years and I'm delighted to be helping them promote their range of services to the general public. Filming should kick off in February with an aim to having the DVD ready in March.

More updates to follow, and I'm planning to get our awesome new showreel online soon, if the Other Andrew will allow it.

Now that the mince pies have digested and the empty bottles are on their
way to the recycling centre, we'd like to wish all our clients a happy new year from all the staff at Kinetic. Here's to a new decade, new opportunities but still the same high quality you'd expect from your favourite Fife based award-winning media outlet.

All the best for 2010.
New Content Up!
Posted Wed 2/12/09 by Andrew Cumming

Christmas is only three weeks away, so as an early present I thought I'd put up a few more films and motion clips on the site. We're now showcasing part of our recent DVD for Fife Council, a couple of films from our Culture of Violence show (which contains some strong language and depictions of violence), a promo we recently completed for Girls On The Move and a couple of oldies from the vault - two promos for Columba 1400 and WWF (the environmental charity, not the wrestlers).

Enjoy!

Kinetic Win Two CreativeFife Awards!

We scooped two prizes at this year's CreativeFife Awards on Friday, held at The Rothes Halls and attended by over 170 industry figures from the Kingdom.

Our first short film, 'Social Circles' took home Best Non-Broadcast Film Production before Paul picked up Best Design Innovation for the Heartstone Brochure he produced earlier this year. Although we narrowly missed out on Best Business Of The Year, we were enthused by the response we received from senior figures at the event including plaudits from Michael Russell, Minister for Culture.

Kinetic would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at CreativeFife for a well organised event and we are already sharpening our steak knifes for next year!

And The Nominations Are...

After winning Fife Social Enterprise Of The Year in March, Kinetic have now been nominated for three more awards at this year's Creative Fife Awards.

We have been nominated for:

Best Web Design
Best Design Innovation
Best Non-Broadcast Film Production

Fingers crossed but you can bet the Kinetic squad will be spit shining shoes and dusting off the suits for a night of fun at the ceremony!!

We'll keep you posted on the results and update you with photos from the night (perhaps the pre-wine half of the night)

It's with great pride (and a little satisfaction) that we announce the launch of Kinetic's first fully fledged website! Yes, after years of making great websites for our clients we've finally found some time to devote to our own and we've been busy populating it for launch over the last couple of weeks.

There are sections devoted to both our design and film departments and the services we provide, with loads of photos and clips ready for viewing. And best of all the site will be updated regularly with previous and brand new jobs, keeping you up to date with Kinetic and all of our exciting new projects.
